Web accessibility is defined as “the state wherein anyone, including the elderly and the disabled, can use the information and functions provided on websites, etc. without difficulty” (Ministry of Internal Affairs, Guidelines for Public Website Management for Everyone (trans.)). Revisions to the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS X 8341-3:2016 (hereafter referred to as “JIS”) were published in 2016. In accordance with these revisions, the Ministry of Internal Affairs published a revised 2016 version of Guidelines for Public Website Management for Everyone (trans.), calling for public institutions, such as those belonging to the national government and local public organizations, to engage in providing websites compliant with JIS.
In accordance with JIS, this website aims to improve web accessibility, fulfilling the conformity level “AA.”
